A Double On The Day For Cloud 9!

Both Rock Of Mahal and Mission Vision were first past the post in their respective races at Wodonga this week for Cloud 9 Thoroughbreds.

After a solid 3rd last start over 1300m Mission Vision appreciated the step up in trip to win comfortably over the 1590m journey.

After settling slightly behind mid field from barrier 11, jockey Michael Walker was quick to press the 'go button' before the 600m mark and the son of Your Song quickly moved up to the leaders entering the straight. He showed, while he has plenty of raw ability, there a still a few kinks to iron out as he raced greenly once the race was all parcelled up. A frivolous protest was thrown in by the runner up but punters who backed him into $2.60 favourite had nothing to worry about as stewards rightly decided that Mission Vision was never going to get beat today.

After getting the maiden win out of the way Mission Vision is likely to next contest the Derby trial at Flemington on the 27th of September.

Later in the day trainer Brent Stanley saddled up stable mate Rock Of Mahal who was always travelling well in behind the speed. Michael Walker settled the Fastnet Rock gelding a few lengths off the leaders before peeling off heels coming into the straight and never looked in doubt as he sailed by to claim victory under 61kgs. He justified punters backing him into $1.65 by cruising away to win by 2lengths.

Congratulations to connections of both Mission Vision and Rock of Mahal!
