Catch whats happening at Cloud 9!

It has been an exciting month so far here at Cloud 9 with plenty happening on and off the track!
After a string of placings Get To The Chopper, Rock Of Mahal and Violate were all quick to go one better and notch up wins for their respective connections.

The ever consistent Get To The Chopper has had 5 starts this season for a win in the Michael Donalds Cup, 3 placing’s and a fourth. Adding to that he was unlucky not to win again when running third on Saturday.

Rock Of Mahal earned himself a shot at the $200,000 Country Cups final on Oaks day when he took out the series heat at Cranbourne night races in impressive style. He carried 60kgs and left the field in his wake to win by 2lengths. In preparation for his big assignment on Oaks day he will stretch his legs around Moonee Valley on Friday night.

3 times stakes placed last season, Violate was cheered over the line by a big group of owners when he won a $120,000 race at Caulfield last week. No one could argue he deserved this win and I’m sure it wont be his last. He next contests the $300,000 Geelong Cup tomorrow with winning jockey James Winks sticking with the entire.

It hasn’t all been roses though. Balancing Act went to Sydney on Everest Day and unfortunately reared as the gates open and dislodged Corey Brown. Thankfully she just followed the field around and both horse and jockey took no ill-effect from the outing.

Group 2 winning mare Sweet Sherry raced on Caulfield Cup day looking to add another Group 2 to her resume. Things didn’t quite unfold as planned during the running but she acquitted herself well as always running a creditable 5th beaten not far at all. She looks on target to add more black type to her already valuable C.V this season.

After a couple of unlucky runs Liberty Lad broke his maiden in style this month and followed that up with a slashing 3rd on Saturday. He arguably would have won the race in another few strides.
In his 8 career starts this progressive galloper has only missed weighing on two occasions.

A big thankyou to all those that attended this years Cloud 9 open day. We take great pride in showing off the excellent facilities we have here at our disposal. In such a relaxed environment the horses are happy and this no doubt helps when taking them to the races as proven by the stables consistent run of winners.
