Diamond Dragon salutes at the Nursery of Champions

Diamond Dragon has made up for an unlucky 2nd last start by smashing his rivals in the Pubs & Clubs Race Day Maiden Plate at Bendigo on Sunday the 24th of May over 1100m.

Ridden by in form hoop Michael Walker, Diamond Dragon was allowed to find his feet in the initial stages before making ground throughout the race. Approaching the bend Diamond Dragon was hot on the heels of the leading horses in clear galloping room.

Being sent out the $2.70 popular elect, Walker let him stride 5 wide around the sole turn on the Bendigo circuit, keeping the Not A Single Doubt gelding balanced the entire way, and upon straightening, released the shackles and he quickly put the race away to race away and win by 3 lengths with ease.

After being nosed out in an extremely tight finish at his previous start, Diamond Dragon registered his first win at just his 2nd start for Cloud 9.

Congratulations to his owner, Mr K Ng who recently transferred the horse to the Cloud 9 Team and hopefully this is the first of many wins to come.
