Fleur Fatale ruled out of Spring

Highly promising three-year-old filly Fleur Fatale will miss the Spring Carnival after being found lame in the off-fore knee.

Trainer Brent Stanley had vets immediately examine the daughter of Commands and the results showed that she had a floating bone chip and will require surgery.

“It’s very frustrating, these things always happen to the good ones,” said Stanley.

“I have no idea how this has happened although the vets seem to think that she has likely had an issue with the knee as a foal and the bone has eventually separated.

“She will have surgery and then require three-to-six-months spell.”

Fleur Fatale created a massive impression with a dominant win on debut in the VOBIS Gold Ingot over 1200m at Caulfield on April 18 and Stanley was targeting the feature fillies races of the Schweppes Thousand Guineas and VRC Crown Oaks with her.
