Jetello & Keating fly at Swan Hill

Debutante Park's unlucky 4 year old Jetello made amends of some desperately unlucky performances this preparation with a solid win at Swan Hill on Sunday the 27th of July.

Ridden by John Keating, the son of Niello was a tad slow to begin from the outside stall and was steadied to try and find some cover in the early stages. This proved impossible for Keating as he was caught stranded 3 and 4 wide without cover by the other riders, who were trying desperately to keep the race favourite out.

When the pace slackened, Jetello quickly whipped around the field and took up the running, burning the field off to cross them after passing and then continued on to kick away on the bend as they straightened.

After doing all the work in the race, Jetello rallied and ridden out by Keating down what seemed like a 4 kilometre straight, held off all comers to win by just over a length in what was a very gutsy performance. One strapper in particular heard on course screaming "How long's this bloody straight!?!?".

A great ride by John Keating who took the initiative to whip around the field quickly after being caught wide and to push on catching the others unaware in what was a race winning move. It is a great reward for John who puts in a lot of effort here with the Cloud 9 team which we certainly appreciate.

"This horse has been unlucky at a few starts this prep so it was good to see him register another win. He ran 2nd at Moonee Valley earlier in the prep and just got overrun last start, so we were confident he would perform well here (Swan Hill)." Brent said.

Congratulations to the Debutante Park team and hopefully we can string a few together for the ever consistent Jetello.
