Override slips into Overdrive!

Speedster Override claimed another victory at the tight turning Moonee Valley on Labour Day, showing his love for the track.

Bouncing from the gates as he always does, jockey Nathan Stanley had to do nothing but hang on for the first 600m of the 1000m event. With the rail out 7m for the entire circuit and favouring on speed runners, Nathan gave Override a click up at the 400m and he extended to put a small gap on the field rounding the bend.

The last 100m would always be the issue for Override over the 1000 meters, however with his true grit and determination and improved stamina since being trained out of Sutton Grange, he held on to score in the Benchmark 78 event.

What made the win more impressive was on top of burning the candle at both ends, Override lumped 59kg's compared to the runner up who had the sit on him the entire race and a 1.5kg pull in the weights.

The win takes Override's earnings over the $150,000 mark and adds to an impressive preparation with 2 wins and 4 placings for 7 starts this time in.
