Royal Scandal salutes at Mildura

Having her first run for the Brent Stanley stable, four-year-old Hard Spun mare Royal Scandal proved far too classy for her opposition, winning the Mildura Rural City Council over 1200m at Mildura on Friday, August 30.

Jumping away cleanly from the gates, the former Peter Moody-trained runner went straight to the lead for jockey Nathan Stanley.

Maintaining her break on the field rounding the turn, the mare went on to take the race, her third all up, by one-and-three-quarter lengths from Millie’s Mann with a further length to the third placed Halo Dot Com.

Bred by David and Jenny Moodie, Royal Scandal is by Darley’s Group One winning and producing sire Hard Spun, out of the stakes placed Palace Music mare Palace Glow.

A half-sister to the Group Three winners Red Colossus and Nediym’s Glow, Royal Scandal is closely related to the unbeaten Hard Spun gelding Royal Haunt, a winner of the Listed Manfred Stakes who was recently sold to Hong Kong connections.

With the recent victories of Yocto, Lideem and Override, Cloud 9 Thoroughbreds is enjoying a good time with its runners and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal clients.
