Ruby runs them ragged!

Crystal Ruby returned a winner on Sunday the 30th of November at Swan Hill in the 0-58 Handicap over the short distance of 975m.

Drawing the outside barrier of 18 (jumped from 14), there wasn't much that Jockey John Keating & Ruby could do but stay wide and out of trouble in the big field.

The pace was on from the get go as it should be in the dash for cash, and Ruby was allowed time to settle early before making a mid-race move to join the leaders as they rounded the bend.

Being no better than 4 wide on the track for the entire race, Ruby had every right to falter in the home straight against her more fancied rivals, but it was not to be as when Keating said go, away she went, powering on to win by 2.5 lengths in a great show of speed and stamina.

"She's been working well at the new property and is really appreciating the training at the farm up the steep slope of the home straight. It gave her a good kick at the end of the race which was nice to see" said Brent.

The full sister to Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily now boasts 2 wins from 3 starts since being transferred to Cloud 9 Thoroughbreds.

Congratulations to all!
