Solar Burst launches from the stratusphere!

Classy mare Solar Burst has come from last on the bend to storm down the outside at Bendigo to record her well deserved second win in her career.

Being allowed to find her feet from the outside barrier, jockey Michael Walker rode a patient and intelligent race aboard the daughter of Northern Meteor that saw her arrive just in time, right on the post.

Settling last throughout the run, rather than trying to push on wide and be caught out in the deep, Walker steered Solar to the outside approaching the home straight and gave her clear galloping room at all times. It was then when Walker asked Solar for the supreme effort that she launched down the outside with an astonishing burst to reign in the runner up and race favourite to score by a half head.

"It was a well deserved win, she's been a bit unlucky this preparation with barriers and being caught out deep on times". "She was in season last start and that was the reason for the way she raced, but today she was back in a big way".

Congratulations to all connections of Solar Burst and we look forward to seeing her in her next assignment.
