Yocto all class at Geelong

Off the back of a six week freshen-up, four-year-old Lonhro gelding Yocto gave nothing else a chance in the Rosemont Stud Handicap at Geelong on the Synthetic track when leading all the way for a resounding three length victory on August 6.

Having only been under the care of the Brent Stanley stable for a few months, Yocto’s victory was his second career win overall and first for his new owner Mr Eden.

Purchased recently from the Contract Racing draft at the 2013 Inglis Great Southern Sale for $17,000, Yocto is well on the way to re-paying his new owner, having already collected over $13,000 since the purchase.

Ridden a treat by Brent’s brother Nathan, Yocto is now likely to step up in trip a little at his next start and based on pedigree, he should appreciate the distance rise.

Out of the Group Three Mannerism Stakes (1400m) winner Miss Jugah, herself a half-sister to Group Two Maribyrnong Plate winner Exclusive Halo, Yocto’s pedigree also includes last season’s Group One Blue Diamond winner Miracles Of Life, the unbeaten Not A Single Doubt filly.
